The only complaint I would have for this smoothie maker is it took way too long to come out on the market. This is a great smoothie maker for the price. It chops through ice and frozen fruit like it is butter, never any ice chips. As long as frozen fruit and ice are allowed to sit in the liquid portion for about 20-30 seconds and then blended, there are no problems with chunks or smoothie maker motor failure.
”Very pleased…” 2010-04-21

Extremely pleased with back to Basics SM700 Smoothie Maker…actually purchased it to see if it would make “slushie” and I couldn’t be more pleased. correct amounts of ice and flavor syrup and the SM700 dispenses the slushy out the spigot into a glass as good as the ones you but in the stores frome the 2000 dollar machines…couldn’t ask for more.
”SUPERB SMOOTHIES” 2010-05-17

I GAVE THIS AS a GIFT AND IT MAKES WONDERFUL SMOOTHIES. EASY TO USE AND BLENDS ICE AND FROZEN FRUIT EASILY. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
”Great smoothie maker – BUT, Stir stick is manual” 2010-06-08
By Consumer advocate
I have only used it twice. The smoothies have been wonderful. Frozen fruit chopped and blended. Yogurt and whey protein blended well did not stick to sides or sink to the bottom. However, I was shocked after opening the box to realize the stir stick is manual. You must turn the stir stick counter clockwise. This said, I would still buy this product again.
”MOTOR BURNED OUT ON 2 UNITS-SAVE YOUR MONEY!” 2010-07-06

Purchased this unit after having a back to Basics Smoothie Plus 600 for a couple years. that unit starting leaking, so husband wanted new one for our Anniversary. Received the back to Basics SM700 Signature II Smoothie Maker and gave to husband. he used and thought it was ‘fine’. after several uses, the “light” indicating unit was ready would not come on & unit would not run. Exchanged unit through Amazon.com. Received replacement unit. Husband used TWICE, and it also burned out! just completely dead. he unplugged after using & cleaning both units, so was not a surge (plugged into surge protector, also). once… OK, can happen to any product. TWICE … No thanks. will try another item. Why it needs an indicator light and has to be unplugged each time should have told me they had issues. just don’t want anyone else wasting all their time & energy on this item. if it happens AFTER your return period with Amazon.com (easiest returns possible), then you’ll have to deal with Company and will be worse. find another product, like I’m going to!
